The weave sets how much length each link adds and which ring sizes work.
Enter the weight and purity of your gold or silver and pick a chain style. The tool converts your weight to a volume using the alloy's density, works out how much wire that volume makes at each thickness, and then estimates how many links (jump rings) that wire yields for the weave you chose — and whether it is enough for the necklace or bracelet lengths you selected.
Each weave adds length differently: a cable chain adds close to a full link diameter per link, while curb/Cuban, rope and box weaves sit tighter and need more links per centimeter. Every style also has a sensible aspect ratio (ring inner diameter ÷ wire thickness) so the suggested ring sizes actually interlink.
